The 16th Annual Cherry Creek Diversity Conference - January 31, 2009
Workshop Proposals
print this page

Our conference features two 80-minute workshop sessions in the afternoon which both students and adults attend. These workshops are selected by every attendee as part of their school delegation. No two attendees from the same school may attend the same workshop, so each audience should have a good mix of students from across the state who, most likely, do not know each other.

Expectations of Workshop Presenters
All of our workshops are designed to appeal to a diverse teenage audience, a supportive group of teachers, or a mix of both. We expect all workshop presenters to make their sessions as interactive as possible. Participants should not feel like they are attending a class, but rather having a conversation about an important issue in their lives.

One goal of the conference is to empower students to make a difference in their local community, and the workshop sessions feature prominently in making this happen. All workshops should include a substantial portion of time devoted to providing resources and ideas to students on how they can incorporate what they've learned into their own environment to promote diversity and tolerance.

All workshop presenters are expected to arrive on the conference day no later than 10:30 am, when they will register, check out their room setup, and enjoy lunch before the first workshop session. They are also welcome to attend opening and closing ceremonies, though is not required.

Separate Panelist Registration
Are you a member of a panel, but not the main organizer? If so, please fill out the panelist registration.
